Happy New Year everyone! I hope that you’ll have an awesome 2012. I know mine is going to be full of changes and challenges! Once the lunar year rolls around (Feb. [tiger] 4) it will be the year of the water dragon! Which means that come March, Vincent will be an water dragon. This is pretty awesome as I’m an earth dragon. ^_^.
So as I said before and I’ll say again, HAPPY NEW YEAR! May the new year bring us brilliant new prosperity, gentle lessons, and the space and time to grow into our best selves and may the Gods and Goddesses bless you this coming year.
It just feels a bit unreal that we’re going into yet another new year. This year has held so many wonderful surprises and challenges. I have no reason to say, “Get the fuck out 2011. I hope 2012 will be a better year.” in a bitter sense. I know that 2012 is going to bring many more surprises, challenges, and quite a few changes with it. Before I get to that however let’s recap 2011 before I go any further.
January - Jeremy and I rescued a boston terrier that we named Ares. We ended up placing him with the Boston Terrier Rescue who found him a permanent home within a week!
February - Nothing of note really, with the exception that I made homemade chocolate covered strawberries for Valentines day.
March - I’ve lost a lot of weight at this point and fit into size 13 pants. I had to also stop calorie counting because I became too addicted and was bordering anorexia levels. This month Jeremy and I also met with a Reproductive Endocrinologist who gave us our options.
April - Easter is the obvious answer :P, but I also decided at the end of April to give vegetarianism a serious go.
May - Had my laparoscopy procedure preformed and decided to start focusing more on me and not TTC.
June - Had a “open mouth insert foot” moment when I was a bitch to Jeremy because he wouldn’t let me go to town with him. Turns out he bought to buy me flowers and wanted it to be a surprise. This is also the month that depression hit me hard enough that I started making plans to do something about it.
July – Jeremy and I celebrated our third wedding anniversary! This was also the day that we found out we unlocked the pregnancy achievement! We are now expecting a baby Luma. Upon finding this out I gave up vegetarianism so that Luma could have all the proper nutrients.
August - We bought a house!
September - Switched to a new OBGYN and watched The Lion King 3D in theaters. LION KING! <3
October - Had our annual birthday bash where I made a kickass Mortal Kombat cake for Jeremy. We also added two new additions to our family. Kitana and Stryker.
November - Jeremy rescued two more kittens that we fostered until they were ready to go to their new home. We named them Oreo the Demon Kitty and Grey One. I also hosted our first ever holiday dinner for Thanksgiving. It turned out awesomely.
December - I decided to celebrate my first pagan sabbat, Yule/Winter Solstice. We had an awesome feast. Let’s not forget about Christmas either! We had an awesome Christmas filled with delicious feastness and fun.
How was your 2011?
Overall I’d like to say that my 2011 went pretty smoothly. I even managed to complete some of my 2011 goals…oh? I had goals for 2011? Yes I did. Granted most of what I accomplished was off my goals and aspirations list, some of them tied in with the 2011 goals I made last year. Such as get pregnant, get out of the obese category, become more spiritual, and read more.
2012 is going to be a busy year. Cherry will be graduating high school in May. Vincent will be arriving sometime in March. I’ll have to stop indulging in cheesecake and actually work on my fitness again. I’ll be able to drink caffeine again though! I’m a bit excited by that. I’d list out some goals for 2012 but that would be a bit redundant as I tend to read my goals and aspirations page more than a blog entry, so I’ll just add them there and focus on marking off as many as I can!
Do you have any goals for 2012?
Jeremy set up a kitty spy cam so we could see what our minions Stryker and Kitana were up to while we slept. This morning we found one of my computer cords across the room. We now know why :P
It’s so hard to believe that there are just 12 weeks until our official due date. This pregnancy has gone by so fast. I know I say that every week but it’s true. I can’t help but wonder when Vincent will decide to make his arrival, so I’ve created a baby pool. The goal is to try to guess when our little luma will arrive, what weight, how long, and what color hair he’ll have. If you’d like to place your bet just click: http://www.bebepool.com/luma :)

I warn you now that there are 33 thumbnails of our Christmas holiday. I tried to narrow it down but it was such a fun day that I ended up choosing 33 photos out of the 70. If you really want to stalk me and see some of the other random photos of us opening gifts, playing games, etc you can visit my flickr album. :).
Christmas turned out pretty great. We went over to Dad’s on Christmas Eve since he had to work Christmas day and opened presents. We scored a lot of loot, all of which was unexpected and that we’re grateful for. Some of the items were:
Come Christmas day I woke up to find that I was missing an ingredient for my Dr. Pepper Ham, luckily Cherry was able to rush it over to me so I could get started. I managed to boil over the glaze onto the stove, which was a nice sticky mess to clean up. My whole “kitchen is dirty, MUST CLEAN” senses tingled the whole time. Did I mention that I don’t like messes?
There were also some funny moments that came on Christmas Day as Cherry and I prepared the feast. Like my Brother trying to play face raiders on the 3DS, Cherry and I getting our butts kicked in Mario Kart (FUU!), My Brother prancing around in his snuggie, asking Cherry why the ham was only at 49 degrees and being informed that I was reading it in Celsius, arm wrestling, and the slug fest between Cherry and our Brother. I never participate in the last game.
Our Christmas Feast consisted of Dr. Pepper Ham, green bean casserole, sparkling fruit salad, gravy, viking potatoes, scalloped velveeta potatoes, homemade bread rolls, and bubbly! It was tasty and left us all with over stuffed stomachs. I made everyone eat (they didn’t mind) some cheesecake an hour or so later because I got stuck with a huge pumpkin pie cheesecake on Thanksgiving because no one ate.
Am I the only one that has to remind people that the rules for my house are that you expect your photo to be taken or that I’ll be taking random photos? Also, how about feast times? My Dad always does his dinners at 2PM and I do mine around 5pm. What time do you usually have your feasts?
Anyways, IT IS TIME FOR CHRISTMAS PHOTO SPAM!
